AGARTALA / PECHARTHAL, June 14 (TIWN): A freight train narrowly escaped from a major accident after landslide took place under Pecharthal railway tracks.
The incident took place at Pecharthal under North Tripura district today afternoon.
Local people, govt staffs are jointly working to recover the route, but since few days landslide chances turned visible and the trains were running at their own risks.
Tripura’s red soil is however sandy in nature and with monsoon things turn worse.
Train service was stopped for a long at there to avoid further risks.
