AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Friday has ordered a 'ban' to the word 'Handicap' permanently from Tripura.
Instead of using any other word, CM asked to use 'Divyang' word for the special children.
Addressing at Rabindra Bhawan Chief Minister Biplab Deb said, if a child is hit since his/her childhood with words as 'disable', 'handicap' then naturally s/he will lose confidence.
"If a mother since childhood calls her son as 'donkey' automatically he will become 'donkey' due to lack of confidence. So, I am requesting the Social Welfare Dept to pass the order that from today nobody can use Handicapped word for special children and to replace the 'handicap' word with 'divyang'.
