Agartala, 20th August (TIWN) A police team headed by SDPO Damanjoy Reang, seized fake Indian currency note. Notes with market value of Rs. 2.50 lakhs were seized from Pancharatan area under Gandacherra police station.
A trap was laid by police over the last few days and ultimately it gave them a major success. Sources said that such currency note are being dispatched from the nearby border area and the market is now flooded with such notes.
Police also have specific information on consignment of fake Indian notes through Indo-Bangla border. People involved in the racket are doing the ‘business’ over the last few months and general public are facing various problems for this. The police team put found 166 numbers of thousand notes and 168 numbers of 500 notes in the black bag that they recovered from the Pancharatan area jungle, sources said.
