AGARTALA, June 2 (TIWN): After ‘Tripura Working Journalists Association’ delegates were twice insulted by Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb and the insulted journalists condemned CM’s attitude with media persons, State Govt has served a press release saying CM was busy in a meeting on May 31st.
In the press note on behalf of the Chief Minister, it has been said, on May 16 Chief Minister was not in the state and on 31st May CM arrived in Secretariat to meet the journalists but suddenly an urgent meeting arrived led the meeting with journalists to delay but journalists left the Secretariat without meeting CM.
‘Tripura Working Journalists Association General Secretary’ Debashish Majumder after state govt’s statement said, “On May 16 the Chief Minister was in state whereas on May 31st, the journalists were waiting for long for the CM till late evening. Even after asking for water also, they were not served. From OSD to CA all were asked, whether CM will meet them or not but no cooperation was shown by the officers”.
Debashish Majumder denied to accept that statement as CM was in station on May 16 and May 31st intentionally the journalists were insulted.
CM’s close aide OSD Dilip Ray is suspected behind the whole episode.
