AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu while delivering speech at the 11th convocation of Tripura University stressed upon the importance of Women Education and Women Empowerment.
“There are various rivers as Ganga, Yamuna, Kaveri which are named after women’s name. Even we do not call Bharat-Pita, but we call Bharat-Mata. Such things signify that women have been highly respected in India since ancient times”, the Vice President said.
“We need to boost women empowerment and we can see in our Ministry also how the women empowerment is increasing”, he said.
Boosting India’s Education system he said, earlier in India from abroad students came to study in institutions like Nalanda.
"It signifies the glory of India's Education Culture", the Vice President said.
The Vice President also urged University students never to forget own mother and also the Nation i.e. ‘Bharat Mata’. Also Naidu asked students to love their mother-tongue and honour it till the last breath.
