AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): 11th convocation programme at Tripura University arranged by India's most tainted Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh has been slammed by state media. This programme was allegedly arranged to suppress the corruption related histories held inside the University under Anjan Kumar Ghosh's Vice Chancellorship. The E-Book scam was one of the major scams left without proper investigation till day, whereas appointing of non-teaching staffs illegally was the most shocking media coverage before one year. Anjan Kumar Ghosh appointed many private employees, media persons illegally as advisers led mass furies among University staffs back in 2017. Not only this, once the VC stopped lunches for the professors saying 'It's wastage of money'. Today ahead of Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu's arrival leading newspapers of the state have reacted sharply against the Vice President's dais sharing with the corrupt VC, demanding proper investigation in E-Book scam.
Under this Vice Chancellor, Tripura University downed from 88th to 196th position in ranking on the basis 'quality'.
In 2017 an audit team of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) had inspected records to verify the charges brought against the VC, but the investigation didn't not end satisfactorily amid senior professors continuous claims about the ongoing corruptions.
Ghosh illegally appointed various non-teaching staffs depriving his own Universities qualified employees, but due to his advisers by manipulating media power the VC is going to take retirement spotlessly.
On the other side, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has been striving to remove corruption from Tripura University amid Govt’s blind eyes under tainted Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh and his team as well as his advisers.
On May 1, the ABVP students sat in protest at the University demanding to remove the VC immediately.
