SABROOM, May 18 (TIWN): When Tripura’s wild animals are on the verges of extinction following the exploitation of wild life under state govt’s negligence, a white coloured ‘Spectacle Monkey’ type animal was found in Sabroom, in South Tripura today.
The locals saw the animal first in a tree and the few frightened locals informed everyone of that area.
The villagers informed the forest dept after that but before the Forest Dept officials came, they caught it and later handed over to the Forest Dept.
The incident took place on Friday at Chatak Chari of Sabroom subdivision.
The Forest Dept would hand over the cubs to the Sepahijala Zoo in western Tripura. The Sepahijala Zoo was categorized by the Central Zoo Authority as one of the 22 large zoos in India.
On May 9, at the Southern Tripura’s Santir Bazar another rare animal was found.
