AGARTALA, May 18 (TIWN): After BJP, now the Hindi slogans trend has gripped the Youth Congress too.
‘Nehi Chalega’, ‘Lout jao’ like phrases were heard from Youth Congress supporters during Akrosh-rally on Thursday.
Hindi as a language is widely used in Tripura, but the Hindi came in controversy after Biplab Deb led BJP Govt suggested state media TV channels to promote Hindi, instead of Kokborok like language to generate ‘nationalism’.
Both CPI-M and Congress reacted sharply against the proposal, saying how can a govt suppress a state’s mother tongue in the name of Nationalism.
CPI-M state secretary Bijan Dhar said, ‘This is not Nationalism but extremism’.
