SANTIRBAZAR, May 9 (TIWN): Villagers found a Clouded Leopard like animal with cat eyes at Santir Bazar K C Para. However, it may be clouded leopard, but officially it has not been announced.
The villager saw the animal first in a tree and the few frightened locals informed everyone of that area.
They informed the forest dept after that but before the Forest Dept officials came, they caught it and later handed over to the Forest Dept.
The incident took place on Wednesday at the Santir Bazar subdivision located K C Para area.
However, as per the latest (in 2002) tiger census there are no tigers in the northeastern state that borders the Chittagong hill tracts (CHT) of southeast Bangladesh.
The Forest Dept would hand over the cubs to the Sepahijala Zoo in western Tripura. The Sepahijala Zoo was categorized by the Central Zoo Authority as one of the 22 large zoos in India.
Earlier also similar incident took place at South Tripura.
