Agartala, May 3 (TIWN / IANS) The BJP government in Tripura effected a major administrative reshuffle and transferred seven of eight District Magistrates and three Sub-Divisional Magistrates, an official said here on Thursday.
In all 18 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and two Indian Forest Service officers were transferred.
Vishwasree B. will be the first woman Director of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.
Joint Secretary in the Union Home Ministry Kumar Alok has joined as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.
"With the approval of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and to further streamline the administration, many senior IAS and Tripura Civil Service officers were transferred on Wednesday," the official from the General Administrative Department said.
Coming less than two months after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)government took charge, the rejig also involves directors of seven departments, including Industries and Commerce, Information and Cultural Affairs and Urban Development Departments.
