AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Following nursing college students’ protest in the University, B.Ed students’ protest in front of Secretariat led the Education Minister to warn against any kind of students protest in Tripura for future.
The above mentioned both protests were not at all political but students were protesting for own rights, but what Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath has uttered was shocking on the 47 day of a new govt’s formation.
Giving a strict warning to state’s students, following the B.Ed students agitation at Secretariat, Tripura Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “In coming days such incident shouldn’t be repeated. In College hours students must be inside the College buildings”.
“The newly elected govt will never compromise with Quality-Education. The recruitment of teachers will be via TET and according to constitution, but the students also must not cross the limits”, he said.
“In coming days any student should not leave College to sit in demonstration. Earlier, in the CPI-M era the Education system was paralyzed due to the too much interference of politics inside the Colleges and Schools. But now such activities will not be tolerated”, Nath said.
“If needed we will come to talk to the students in the College. From Janata Durbar to many means are there where they can place their demands”, the Minister said.
