AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): 21 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 21 Sector Assam Rifles conducted a workshop on "Women Empowerment" at Manithan village, Gomati District and Lathaibari village in Khowai District on 25 April 2018 . A total no of 245 people including women village elders attended event.

The workshop aimed at enlightening the local populace about the importance of women empowerment and it's need. The event also facilitated opening of Sukanya Samridhi Account for the benefit of  girl child . The local bank officials of SBI Bank and Post Office were part of this noble drive.

This genuine approach by Assam Rifles to enlighten remote villages with respect to large number of Govt Schemes for their benefit was applauded by all.
