AGARTALA, April 24 (TIWN): 21 Sector Assam Rifles organised distribution of 250 Solar Lamps at Dhupcherra ADC village under Old Agartala RD Block as part of Green Energy Drive to commemorate the Panchayati Raj Diwas today.

A lecture on Women Empowerment as also Health and Hygiene was also organised. Locals were apprised of large number of Government Schemes for their benefit including Jan Dhan Account, Sukanya Samridhi Plan as also various initiative to especially  empower women.

Siddharth Jaiswal,IAS, BDO Old Agartala RD Block was also present at the occasion who along with locals thanked Assam Rifles for the initiative.
