AGARTALA, April 23 (TIWN): Tripura Minister Pranajit Singha Roy after the cabinet meeting held on Monday, announced that with the resignations of the members, the Municipal Corporations will not stop working for a second.

“Today Udaipur Municipal Chairperson Subrata Deb has resigned, but before him almost all members had resigned. But the Chief Minister has decided to continue the Municipal Corporations works without any pause via officials, even though all know how tough to run the office without any chairperson and member”, the Minister said.

The issue was raised in the cabinet after Udaipur Municipal Corporation chairperson Subrata Deb resigned with allegations of attacks under BJP Govt.

Before few days the chairperson was threatened, insulted by unknown people in his own office but police have failed to find out all of them.Yesterday locals gheraoed him protesting against the water-logging in their areas. Following the incident Subrata Deb has resigned today.
