Before few days the chairperson was threatened, insulted by unknown people in his own office but police have failed to find out all of them.

Yesterday locals gheraoed him protesting against the water-logging in their areas. A deputation was placed to Subrata Deb by ward no- 9's local people.

Following the incident Subrata Deb has resigned today.
