AGARTALA, April 22 (TIWN): 8 CPI-M leaders from Tripura have been listed as Central committee members including MP Jitendra Chowdhury, Ex-CPI(M) Minister Tapan Chakraborty.

Among the 17 member Polit Bureau Manik Sarkar is there from Tripura marking with the 5th position in the list, whereas 1) Aghore Deb Barma 2) Bijan Dhar, 3) Badal Choudhury, 4) Rama Das (W) 5)Gautam Das, 6)  Tapan Chakravarty, 7) Jiten Choudhury are elected Central Committee members.

Tripura former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has announced Sitaram Yechury's name as the re-elected CPI-M General Secretary.

His re-election took place on the last day of the party's 22nd Congress here, CPI-M leader and former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar announced.

Sarkar said Yechury was elected by a 95-member new Central Committee. The party also elected a 17-member new Politburo.
