TELIAMURA / AGARTALA, April 19 (TIWN): Rohingyas entries via Tripura in India are in rise. Today also 18 Rohingyas were arrested by Tripura Police, when they were traveling from Tripura to other states.
All of the Rohingyas were going towards Assam via a bus. When they came near the Telimaura PS, then all of them were booked by police.
Basically, Tripura is working as the corridor for illegal entries, which has been proven once again.
The Rohingya people are a stateless Indo-Aryan-speaking people who reside in Rakhine State, Myanmar. At Bangladesh the govt had given them shelter, but via Tripura's border they are trying to enter everyday.
This is not first time, but many Rohingyas were nabbed by state police.
For the investigation purpose, the names of the Rohingyas have not been announced yet but Telimaura Police official have confirmed 18 Rohingyas arrest today. At evening 7.50 pm also the inquiry was going on in the Police station.
