AGARTALA, April 12 (TIWN): The BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb himself has accepted that there has been a huge pending of central funds including irrigation project.
Recently in the NITI-Aayog meeting CM told the DoNER, "Due to discontinuation of AIBP funding from the year 2011-12 for medium irrigation projects and from the year 2013-14 for minor irrigation schemes, the progress of irrigation project is badly hampered. The balance fund for Gomati and Khowai medium irrigation project are required to complete the projects. Further the balance Central share for an amount of Rs. 51.545 crore for minor irrigation schemes is also to be released by Govt of India".
"Project proposal for gap funding ongoing minor irrigation schemes for an amount of Rs 84.10 crore, sent to the Government of India in 2016-2017 for sanction, which is still awaited", the Chief Minister said in the statement.
