AGARTALA, September 2 (TIWN): With pandals at every nook and corner the city is gearing up to celebrate the up comming Durga Puja in full swing. The devotees in the city are eagerly waiting for their Maa Durga. The festive spirit has gripped the entire city.

Every organizer of Durga Puja pandals are gearing up to make the event attractive. Hectic activities have started taking place to shape up giant pandals in different parts of the city.  The Tripura government has made unprecedented security arrangements in all urban areas including the state capital to ensure peaceful Durga Puja festivities in the state.

The police has installed drop grates at all significant roads to prevent entry of vehicles in crowded areas during peak hours. According to the police strict watch is being kept over the activities of anti-social elements and preventive actions are being taken. Counter insurgency operations in vulnerable areas of the state were stepped up by district police authorities, TSR, Assam Rifles and BSF through deployment of additional forces, said Police.
