KAILASHAHAR / AGARTALA, April 8 (TIWN): Congress leader, Ex-MLA Birjit Sinha said, under the Congress Govt at Centre led by the then Prime Minister Manmohon Singh all the sanctioned Airports of India are completed, except Tripura's Kailashahar Airport.
"The previous CPI-M Govt had never taken initiative to build an Airport at Kailashahar, even after Central Govt had sanctioned the project" , Birjit Sinha said.
"The CPI-M Govt didn't allocate land which led the Kailashahar Airport far from reality. It was said that Central Govt will bear the expenditure but State Govt has to allocate lands, but the CPI-M Govt never bothered about Kailashahar Airport", the Congress leader said.
"Now, BJP Govt is there and we demand that BJP Govt will take initiative to allocate land for Kailashahar Airport", Sinha added.
