AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): Tripura Health Minister Sudip Barman while addressing at World Health Day-2018 said, 'It's shame for state's Health Dept that people are running outside Tripura for their treatments'

"The Health Dept in Tripura has been neglected since decades. Many things could have been done but the desire was lacking", said Barman.

"Construction of buildings and purchasing of equipments can't upgrade the health service, but the men-power, which is very important aspect has been missing here", he said.

"Our govt is determined to take initiatives in this aspect and to ensure that the purpose for which the machines have been purchased will be fully utilized and public should take full benefit of them", he added.

"Our state's Doctors who are working outside the state and the country are performing very well. Then why can't we ?", the Minister raised question at Rabindra Bhawan.

"Why can't the state govt allocate infrastructure? I have seen doctors are trying to return in Tripura but due to  various reasons it was never possible for them", Sudip Barman said.

"Each and everyday people are moving outside the state for treatment. But we believe, the govt headed by Biplab Deb will be succeeded to upgrade the health service of our state", Barman said.
