AGARTALA, April 7 (TIWN): ICFAI University in Tripura observed World Health Day-2018 on Saturday.
A colourful rally was conducted on that occasion from Rabindra Bhawan led by students, teachers. The ICFAI-team also walked around the city as a part of awareness campaigning.
The ICFAI University, Tripura was established in 2004 through an Act of State Legislature (Tripura Act 8 of 2004). The University has been approved by the University Grants Commission, under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. The University a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, London, the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and the Federation of Universities, India.
The World Health Day is a global health awareness day. Along with World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, and World Hepatitis Day, World Health Day is one of the eight official health campaigns which are marked by the World Health Organization. With an aim to spread awareness about health and well being, the first ever World Health Day was observed in 1948 by the WHO. Since that day, 7 th April is observed as the World Health Day every year.
