AGARTALA, April 3 (TIWN): In a drive against anti-social elements, West Agartala Police have arrested 6 gamblers from Battala today.
Getting informed via Secret Sources, West Police in Civil dress went there and nabbed all of them. Money, calculators were recovered with them.
Addressing media persons in the evening OC Subrata Chakraborty said, "Police are raiding various places regularly as a move against anti-social elements including gambling and illegal liquor business. Today at Battala's Howrah river lined Super market area we sent police in civil dress and from there 6 persons were arrested".
Aroung Rs. 9,000 was also recovered with the gamblers.
"We are aiming to end the gambling racket across Battala area. I am also requesting public to cooperate with police and if anybody gets information about such ongoing anti-social activity s/he must inform in West police station", OC said.
