AGARTALA (Banamalipur), March 18 (TIWN): Tripura BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb has offered prayers to Bharat Mata Goddess at Banamalipur.

In Tripura Bharat Mata was hardly worshiped before the saffron wave came in state, but since last few years Bharat Mata puja came in the fashion. 

This is the first puja that Biplab Deb has attended after the Election in his own constituency Banamalipur.

Bharat Matā is the national personification of India as a mother goddess. She is an amalgam of all the goddesses of Indian culture and more significantly of goddess Durga. She is usually depicted as a woman clad in a saffron sari holding the Indian national flag, and sometimes accompanied by a lion.
