DHANPUR / SONAMURA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Vote casting were completed in the afternoon across crucial polling stations of Dhanpur-23 and Sonamura-22.

A total 1909 voters names were in the voters list. 

Dhanpur is Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's constituency, whereas from BJP Pratima Bhowmik is battling the election. At Sonamura BJP candidate Subal Bhowmik is fighting the election against CPI-M MLA Shyamal Chakraborty.

In both the constituencies CPI-M is holding the power.

Tripura's re-polls across 6 polling stations have been started already since 7 AM. As the Election Commission is making the voting this time as 100% transparent so the re-polling has been announced for Tripura including Chief Minister Manik Sarkar's Dhanpur constituency.
