AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): Smooth functioning observed across women-managed polling stations.
Among the 3,214 polling stations in Tripura there are 47 police stations which are totally controlled by women polling personnel in Tripura.
From Group-D to Presiding officers all are women, except 'voters', who will be from both men and women.
The women driven booths will remain open for male electorates as well as female.
The CEO Sriram Taranikant said that women driven polling stations is a symbolic gesture as they attach a lot of importance to gender parity. They also expressed that it is a goal of Election Commission to ensure more participation of women in the electoral process.
