AGARTALA, Feb 17 (TIWN): TIWN's survey on each ministers of Tripura, has lifted Minister Manik Dey's name as the topmost failed Minister among all the Ministers of state cabinet.
The mian reason of Manik Dey's name in the top-list had started with his Power Dept, where the govt had failed not only to provide electricity across Tripura but his dept also stayed reluctant against the hook-line users which burdened the state with heavy pending bills to NEEPCO and other power plants. After that Tripura Govt had to take a Rs 250 crore's loan from UBI at 10 rupees interest. Hence load-shedding was also another common problem faced by the masses.
When it comes about transport dept, highway-roadway pathos are well-known even though the maintenance work was under PWD for long. Which had cost Tripura heavily under Manik Dey, was the stopping of TRTC service in long distances. Due to no maintenance of those buses, the TRTC service has been fully stopped, which even before 5 years were functioning smoothly. Instead of 30 rupees fare, TRTC took 15 rupees, giving much relaxation to the passengers, but now under the 5 yrs of his Ministry the service is halted since long.
He is also holding Rural Development (Panchayat) Dept. MGNREGA scams made his dept popular along with RD Dept under Minister Naresh Jamatia.
When it comes about his Urban Development Dept, in last 5 years Agartala has turned the fastest flooding zone of Northeast.
