Agartala, August 27 (TIWN): ONGC Tripura Asset Manager VP Mahawar today met Governor Padmanabha Balakrishna Acharya to discuss the ongoing projects of the premier State owned oil and natural gas explorer in the state.
The Governor enquired about forthcoming exploration projects in the state.
ONGC which started exploration in Tripura in 1972, drilled 176 wells out of which 82 were found to be gas bearing wells. The Tripura asset was producing 3.95 million cubic metre gas per day which was likely to reach 6.35 million cubic meter in the next three years for supplying gas to the forthcoming Chambal gas based fertilizer factory and ONGC Tripura power company’s Palatana power plant.
A delegation of small and medium entrepreneurs of the state met the Governor later today.
Two separate political delegations from the Tripura Pradesh Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) met Governor PB Acharya on the day. Both parties submitted a memorandum to the Governor.
Governor Acharya is slated to join the official inauguration of Jan Dhan Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi on August 28.
