AGARTALA, August 27 (TIWN): For upliftment of the socio economic conditions of the Minorities people of the State the state government is taking every possible steps said Minister for revenue and PWD Badal Choudhury while speaking in the programme of Sadar Sub-Divisional level Pre-Metric Scholarship distribution-2014 among the minority meritorious students at Agartala Town Hall here today.

A part from the central government scholarship schemes the state government is providing scholarship to the minority people. We are also providing financial assistance in the shape of loan with soft and concessional rate of interest to the Religious Minorities people of the State so they can self employed and earn their livelihood. The left front government also provide education loan to the poor Minority students for higher studies in various professional and Technical courses. A total of 151 areas are pointed as minority people areas and all these areas are under AMC. We will try our level best to develop these areas, he added.

During the programme a total of 669 students were benefited with the pre-metric scholarship. Minister for minority welfare, youth affairs and sports Sahid Choudhury and other officials were present in the programme.
