AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): Ahead of Election, CPI-M MP Jharna Das Baidya has hit IPFT President N C Debbarma for not allowing women candidates to stand in election.
"Couldn't you give one or two seats out of total 9 seats to the women ?", MP said after IPFT's women wing was divided from the mainstream alleging NC Debbarma led deprivation to women.
The issue was raised when Swapna Debbarma IWFT Chief had announced to get rid of men-led IPFT which didn't give a single seat to women out of 9 seats.
Women activists also went with NC Debbarma's party at New Delhi to meet Rajnath Singh and PM Modi and thus they had asked NC Debbarma to allow at least 1 woman to participate in the election, but NC Debbarma didn't bother to their pleas.
Now, CPI-M MP has also supporting the women group of IPFT said that it's a total deprivation done to the IPFT women's wing.
