AGARTALA, Jan 26 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has paid floral tributes to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose, Jawharlal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of 69th Republic Day of India.

The main progress on behalf of Congress was observed at Congress Bhawan. The party leaders hoisted Indian National Flag and sang the National anthem.

The President of the Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "On the eve of our 69th Republic Day, I'm writing this #LettertotheNation, to remind ourselves of the commitments we made in our Constitution.  I wish each of you a very Happy Republic Day!"

Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act as the governing document of India.
