SONAMURA, Jan 24 (TIWN): FIR has been lodged against a BJP activist of Sonamura with rape accusation.

The accused has been identified as Bimal Debbarma and CPI-M has accused him as booth level member of Rampada Para ADC village.

On the night of Saraswati Puja, a housewife  was alone at her home at around night 11 PM after she came from puja mandap and was waiting for her husband, who was still at puja mandap.

She didn’t lock the door and was feeding her baby. But suddenly Bimal Debbarma entered the room and raped her.

An FIR has been lodged against Bimal Debbarma in Sonamura PS.  Police is investigating the case.
