TIWN Dec 4, 2025

HYDERABAD, Dec 4 (TIWN): IndiGo's operations at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad were severely disrupted on Wednesday, resulting in the cancellation of 40 flights. According to reports, 19 departures and 21 arrivals were cancelled as of 7 p.m. on December 3.
The cancellations affected flights to several key domestic destinations, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Hubbali, and Bhopal. Passengers traveling to international destinations with connecting flights were among those most impacted.
The disruptions are attributed to operational challenges faced by IndiGo, including a pilot shortage and technology issues. The airline has been struggling to cope with the new Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms, which came into effect on November 1.
These norms aim to prevent pilot fatigue by regulating flight and duty hours. IndiGo operates over 2,200 flights daily and has been expanding internationally.
In a statement, IndiGo apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and assured that alternate flight options or refunds were being offered where applicable. The airline is working to stabilize operations and minimize disruption.
