NEW DELHI, June 10 (TIWN): Congress leader Supriya Shrinate on Monday called for the immediate removal of Amit Malviya as IT cell head of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after an RSS member leveled allegations of sexual exploitation against him. In a press meeting, Shrinate said, “Today we seek the immediate removal of Amit Malviya from his position. It is an extremely influential position. It is a position of power and there can be no independent probe or justice unless or until he does not get removed from the position.
"He cannot continue in that position of power if justice indeed has to be done. He is the same man who has perpetrated one lie after the other. He has not maintained any decency in public life. He has not even spared India’s first Prime Minister Nehru. He has publicised and maligned Nehru for the images with his sister and his niece,” Shrinate.
“He has cut and snipped Rahul Gandhi's media bytes, statements, and addresses and crossed every limit of morality in public life. We want the immediate removal of him from his position for an independent probe to happen. We only hope that the Prime Minister will learn some lessons from the 63 seats he has lost. He will learn humility and he will learn that he cannot consistently stand with people who exploit women,” she added.
“We hope that the new Minister of Women and Child Development is not going to be a mute bystander to women’s plight. We hope that NCW will find their voice, conscience, and morality and take suo-moto cognisance of this matter. Justice can only be done if this man is removed from his power of authority,” Shrinate said.
