AGARTALA, Dec 17 (TIWN): On the occasion of Vijay Diwas, when Tripura Chief Minister to Governor all had been busy to in various programmes to mark the Indo-Bangla relation and ties since 1971, on the other side across Agartala City posters were seen recalling a past history and pains which state is bearing. East Pakistan had occupied all plain lands and in that way British ruled Chala Roshonabad area under Tripura had been taken by East Pakistan very cunningly. Tripura was given with all hilly areas, whereas plain and agricultural lands were taken by East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) taking the opportunity of Govt of India's negligence for Tripura. Infact whole Tripura was occupied by East Pakistan, saying maximum people in Tripura wanted to be with Islamic Country. However, thanks goes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Queen Kanchan Praba Devi's joint initiative, which immediately saved Tripura from becoming a part of East Pakistan and because Tripura became Indian part, Bangladeshi Hindus more than the Tripura's population could take shelter in Tripura. If Bangladeshi (East Pakistan) Hindus didn't get shelter in Tripura, they had been killed or converted.

But amidst all these 'Chakla-Roshonabad' (Comilla region of Bangladesh) areas, which earlier belonged to Tripura in British era also, was cunningly occupied by East Pakistan and now after 70 years of Independence new voices are raising for its recovery.

Tripura would never been under India, if the then Deputy PM Vallabhbhai Patel had not intervened with Queen Kanchan Praba Devi's request. Before independence, the British became much worried to see the unity of India as well as the country natural and manpower. To stop India to beat the whole world, they had divided the country on the basis of religion. They urged for 3 divisive platforms : Hindustan, Pakistan and Independent-nation. Call began to separate Tripura and joining the state with East Pakistan. Also a wrong report was sent at Centre saying Tripura was Muslim populated. On that time, Queen Kanchan Prabha Devi who was at Shillong wrote to Vallabhbhai Patel that Tripura is Hindu dominated.

This year on the occasion of Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary, BJP leader Sunil Deodhar said, " Govt of India did not allow the state to become Pakistan's part and after getting the information in 1947 Air forces were sent to Tripura to free it from Pakistan. Thanks goes to Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya who made the Airports including 6 more Airports, otherwise Tripura would never become a part of India".

But there was a debate with Chakla Rosonabad area and again the call for Chakla, Roshonabad's recovery has started in Tripura.
