AGARTALA, Nov 18 (TIWN): Tripura Opposition MLA Ratan Lal Nath has claimed that Tripura’s chit fund scam was the biggest ever economic disaster which can not be compensated with 30 years of Tripura’s revenue and other income’s total. Addressing a press meet Tripura Opposition MLA Rtan Lal Nath said, “In the history of Tripura there was no such a major financial loss the state faced, before the chit fund disaster. Chit fund is the biggest financial irregularities, looted lakhs of people’s savings which can not be recovered, worst than flood, earthquakes like disasters”.

“The chit fund disasters have been conducted through Manik Sarkar’s direct and indirect helps in that manner which can not be recovered. Generally  in murder cases or in other any kind of scams ruling party has blamed the opposition, but Chit Fund is the only means which could not be answered or counterattacked by the CPI-M Govt”, said Nath.

“The Ministers, MLAs MPs’s direct involvement in chit funds could not be denied even in the recently released Govt Press note with 10 allegation’s denial. But they did not only helped the chit funds but they helped in that manner so that the thieves can not be caught in coming days”, said Nath.

“The Chit fund has looted Rs. 35,000 crores from the state people, which is almost equivalent with the 30 years of income of the state govt. For example in 2014 the income of the govt wad 1632 croes, in 2015 it was 1637 in 2016 it was 1742 and like that a 30 years of income can not fulfill the loss which held due to the chit fund”, added Nath.

"Till day Tripura Govt could not identify that how many chit fund companies had looted Tripura depositors, what is the total amount..........!", said Nath.

"There were at least 35,000 crores looted of Chit Fund companies, but State Govt could not identify the amount", said Nath to media.

“Chief Minister Manik Sarkar who promised on May 13, 2013 at 5.50 PM in the Assembly that it is Govt's duty to return the chit fund depositors invests, has proven as a total lie. Nothing will be given to public, because he has no intention. Moreover, planwise saving the Jiban Sambriddhi Chit fund owners like Ratan Chowdhury who looting Tripura's money built a flat Dum Dum was a totally misusing of public trust", said Nath.
