AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): Ahead of Election, Tripura CPI-M being unready to take self-criticism has come on an open battle ground with its Red-arrow and not leaving Dipa Karmakar like personalities to hit her on political ground. With a major shocking note, State CPI-M Secretary Bijan Dhar on Monday came in an open battle with Tripura's Golden Girl, State’s pride Dipa Karmakar, slamming her for calling Agartala roads are ‘narrow’, ‘potholed’ while returning her BMW car. Tripura's Produnova girl gymnast Dipa Karmakar who had returned the BMW gifted by Sachin Tendulkar after Rio Olympic, is now being campaigned by Tripura Political Parties. Dipa said while returning the car that Tripura roads are not qualified for BMW cars full of narrow roads and potholes. Dipa's statement caused a national level face loss for CPI-M which exposed PWD's corruption under Manik Sarkar's regime.

This issue was raised by state BJP, Trinamool few times as reference to CPI-M's corruptions. 

Addressing a press meet at the party office Bijan Dhar said today, "If Tripura was not been developed how the state govt received 33 awards and if BMW can't run over the road is it only our fault ? National Highway belong to Central Govt".

However, Bijan Dhar also showed his height of his ignorance as instead of BMW was saying Dipa's BMR car and also didn't said that when Dipa returned the car National Highway belonged to State PWD, which has recently taken by Centre and till day all inland roads belong to State Govt.

After Manik Sarkar filed a case against Tripura BJP State Observer Sunil Deodha, he said, "When 10323 teachers lose jobs, Dipa Karmakar returns BMW, Gandacherra children's deaths...... on that time he is not defamed ? But when anybody criticises him it defames him ?"

With all these, CPI-M Spokesperson has finally expressed his resentment with Dipa Karmakar for her statement.

Dipa Karmakar had bought from the Rs 25 lakh she got after returning the BMW as a token of appreciation for her exploits at the Rio Olympics.

Karmakar, who shot to fame after becoming the first Indian gymnast to qualify for the Olympic finals, was forced to return the luxury car as the roads in her hometown of Agartala were narrow and potholed. Besides, the town didn’t have a service center for her car.

“Considering her situation, Dipa was given cash amounting to Rs. 25 lakh. Her family bought a car recently, and it was a brand that has a service center in Agartala,” on that time Karmakar’s coach Bisweswar Nandi said.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, also BMW’s brand ambassador, had handed over the keys to Karmakar and two other Rio medal winners – shuttler PV Sindhu and wrestler Sakshi Malik. Sindhu’s coach – P Gopichand was also given a BMW car.

Referring the statement of Dipa Karmakar, Bijan Dhar has further punctured her image which is likely to raise more uproars, as his statement was also the National athlete's insult.
