Opposition hits Home Minister Manik Sarkar for paralyzed Police Stations' land phone numbers : Sarkar blames BSNL, hides 'Pending Bills' to BSNL

AGARTALA, Nov 13 (TIWN): After opposition MLA Diba Chandra Rankhol asked about the paralyzed Home Ministry of Manik Sarkar, uproars had hit the first day of the Assembly. MLA Diba Chandra Rankhol raised a question, "From Nepal Tilla to many such police stations' land phone numbers have been paralyzed. Although a single contact number for each police stations has been given to the public, the land phone numbers are not working and mobile phones are being used in the police stations. How will public reach to police there ?" In reply Home Minister Manik Sarkar said, "The matter is under observation and the mobile numbers will be given to the public as it's a problem of BSNL". However, Chief Minister cum Home Minister Manik Sarkar kept the issue hidden that due to the bills, BSNL has cut the land numbers of maximum police stations.

After that MLA Gopal Roy raised question, "Along with land phone problems there are other problems as the West PS and various other Police stations are left in broken condition. What about that ? When such issues will be sorted out and police stations will be mordenize?"

However, in reply , Chief Minister again said the same and mentioned 'things are under observation".

Other issues which were raised included Santanu murder case and denial of CBI's probe in it". 

But Chief Minister Manik Sarkar in this connection said, "SIT is probing the murder case and we have trust on SIT. Wait till SIT Completes its work".

MLA Madhav Saha mocked at CBI saying it couldn't probe Shyam Hari, Debol murder case, Bhola Saha murder cases.

It led further uproars in the Assembly, as the opposition had already charged the ruling party for being involved in the murder of Tripura TV journalist Santanu Bhowmik who was killed on Sep 20.
