AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy has condoled the pathetic death of BSF 145 Bn Dy Commandant Dipak Mandal, who has taken his last breath on Friday at Kolkata's Medica Hospital.

“God rest his soul,Om Shanti. Died in the service of the motherland,at the hands of cattle smugglers. Now let's see how many say #IamDeepak”, Governor tweeted.

Deepak Kumar Mandal, a Border Security Force (BSF) commanding officer who was attacked by cattle smugglers in Tripura's Sipahijala district on Monday, succumbed to his injuries today.

The BSF Officer was injured while counter attacking cattle smugglers at Sonamura, had left in deep coma for 4 days. Atlast on Friday Dipak Mandal gave up in the battle of life and succumed to his injuries.
