AGARTALA , Sep 25 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar’s role has once again come under the scanner as CM remained silent in the brutal murder of young journalist SantanuBhowmik, who was allegedly hacked to death by IPFT goons in Mandai . Rather than CBI investigation and punishing corrupt Police officials for letting SantanuBhowmik die front of them, Manik Sarkar as shut down Tripura’s mobile internet services for no reason to punish lakhs of innocent law abiding citizens.Manik Sarkar’s cold response for repeated requests for CBI investigation raises the doubt of CPI-M’s criminal elements, a section of Police officials involvement in Santanu’s murder.

 TIWN alongwith other medias, Journalists demanding CBI investigation otherwise CPI-M indirect role in Santanu Bhowmik killing will remain under mat.

Santanu was covering the news of the political clash between IPFT and CPI-M in Mandai when he was being taken to thejungle and ruthlessly murdered by a group of unidentified goons .Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar was recently seen walking through the streets of Agartala protesting against the killing of Maoist linked journalist Gouri Lankesh, even flown to Hyderabad to offer floral tributes to unknown Rohit Vemula . But in Tripura when the journalists blocked the road in front of CMs residence demanding justice in Santanu's brutal killing ,Manik Sarkar remained silent. Manik Sarkar didn’t even bother to offer floral tributes to Santanu’s mortal remains front of Agartala Press Club.

Finally after 4 days of murder, CM visited Santanu’s home but offered no monetary help.

Interestingly CM even did not visit the GB hospital to see the families of the  victim or even the injured persons including a Forest Department official in that clash . This mysterious silence of Manik Sarkar, who is the Home Minister as well , clearly indicates his dramabazi in similar situation . A vast majority of the journalists,(except the CPI-M puppets) feel that CMs silence and unwillingness to meet the agitated journalists is simply inhuman . Even on 22nd September when a protest rally was organized  in which journalists, intellectuals and even political leaders of different political parties took place , Manik Sarkar, the so called ‘masiha’ of transparency was not seen walking in that rally .

In case of unknown(in Tripura) journalist GouriLankesh, CM could walk on the streets of Agartala though her brother and sister categorically said that GouriLankesh had relations with the Maoists Naxalites and even they suspected that Lankesh might have been murdered by the Moaists themselves . People of Tripura witnessed that Manik Sarkar flew away to Hyderabadto sympathize with co-students after the suicide of Rohit Vemula . But in Tripura when a young talented girl student of a minority community AnuwaraBegam was allegedly murdered by her uncle , a known hardcore CPI-M comrade, Manik Sarkar did not visit the agitated students nor uttered a single word of sympathy .

Moreover, Manik Sarkar and his party sponsored SFI leader Nilanjana even threatened the agitated students when they were demanding justice in AnuwaraBengam's murder without any banner . This shows the anti-people attitude of the CPI-M and its sponsored students' unit .

A few years back one PapaiSaha was brutally killed(shot dead) in broad day light near Agartala West P S when a group of angry Congress workers clashed with the police . That time also Manik Sarkar's role was of a mute spectator as is he was enjoying the entire episode .

There is no denying of the fact that the police department led by Manik Sarkar and the state Govt are utter failure in the IPFT issue .Frequently IPFT goons or CPI-M backed criminal elements create panic and damage property but police administration remains silent . The situation is going out of control .

Many are with the view that state govt is deliberately leading the state to another ethnic violence like the 1980s purely with a cunning political intention .

Manik Sarkar was unwilling to meet the agitated journalists after Santanu’smurder , who were infront of his residence. Finally few journalists were given permission to meet Tripura CM.

 Several questions now arise out of the mysterious role of the so called Honest(?) CM of Tripura :-

1)Why didn't the Tripura CM order for CBI probe in Journalist SantanuBhowmikmurder ?Manik Sarkar ducking CBI probe to save his fellow comrades and CPI-M backed Police officials ?

2)Why doesn't Manik Sarkar show sympathy to the journalists like he did in Maoist linked GouriLankesh ?

3)Why didn't CM not visit GB hospital to monitor the medical facilities after the sad incidence ?

4)Why does Manik remain mute when crimes takeplace in Tripura inspite of being the Home Minister ?

5)Why should he not accept the failure of police to combat IFPFT issue ?

6)Is CM Manik Sarkar leading the state to June 80s like situation again due to utter inefficiency and incompetency of the police and administration under his belt ?

Its time for Manik Sarkar question himself that what kind of hypocrite and shameless administrator ruining Tripura over two decades ?
