AGARTALA, Sep 23 (TIWN): Even though Supreme Court had passed an order in 2016 saying that state govts can suspend internet in crisis situation, but Tripura Govt is using the right to defend the criminals of the state who killed journalist Santanu, where Police were actively involved just as Papai Saha murder case. Moreover in cause behind the Internet Suspension was given as 'Probable Upcoming Situations', whereas recently Calcutta HC told Mamata Banerjee's Govt that a state govt can't bring restrictions by 'Dreaming' an imaginary situation. In riot like situation as Gujrat and after terrorist attacks in J&K like states only internet can be suspended, but here what Tripura Govt is doing is fully illegal.

Not only this, internet suspension was an attempt to save the actual killers as Santanu, who was killed before hundreds of police officials, but till now not a single police was suspended in Santanu murder case.

SP Khowai Nagendra Debbarma's role has been under scanner for triggering violence since the morning of Santanu's brutal murder. Along with Santanu another person is also missing but neither police is clarifying how the murder took place nor police is arresting the actual culprits. May be that is the saddest part of Federalism.

Even though CPI-M is saying that Santanu was killed by IPFT but in Govt press release nothing was mentioned directly about IPFT.

Recently, the Calcutta high court cancelled the West Bengal government’s decision to restrict Durga puja idol immersions, saying, “You are exercising extreme power without any basis. Just because you are the state, can you pass arbitrary order?”

The court also said,  “If you dream that something will go wrong, you cannot impose restrictions".

(Thus as per law Govt can't order suspension on Imaginary outcomes)

But here Manik Sarkar's Govt has imposed the restriction to internet in Tripura with a reason of an imaginary probable outcome of a situations. In this condition a single PIL may turn heavy on Manik Sarkar once again.
