Threats Exist : Unofficial patrolling across Agartala begins as IPFT's rally on Aug-23

AGARTALA, Aug 21 (TIWN): Huge numbers of police personnel are in action on Monday and checking is going on across the capital city ahead of IPFT rally on Wednesday. At Sakuntala market complex to various other spots the extra security to be remained to ensure safety on August 23rd. Since the morning from Haradhan Sangha to Pragati club area, patrolling was done, but no official declaration about safety issues were given so far. However, a police source from high level official under West PS said that there is no official announcement about patrolling, but all the places are inspecting and checking will be done to every nooks and corners of the capital City. IPFT was to conduct the rally on Agust-23 at Agartala, but following IPFT's 10 day long blockade at National Highway and last year 2016's clashes among the Tribal and Bengalis have led the administration not to permit for IPFT's rally on 2017's same day.

Addressing a press meet at Press Club, IPFT Chief NC Debbarma said, "As we have been not permitted to hold the rally at Agartala, so we will do it in Khumlwng but there will be no lack of interest among the participants". NC Debbarma further said, "Only in case of IPFT rules come".

However, taking no risks  a huge number of police is already in action to cut the cpaital city from every dangers.

The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) was a tribal-based party in Tripura That was a member of the North-East Regional Political Front, a group of political parties of the northeast that have supported the National Democratic Alliance (India). The party existed from 1997 to 2001 until it was merged into the Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT), and reformed in 2009.
