AGARTALA, June 22 (TIWN): Only a few years back Congress party in Tripura rocked the State with the demand of CBI probein massive scams in differentcentrallypnsored schemes including MGNREGA, RMSA,SSA,NRHM and so many. However, Congress failed to continue this movement initiated by the then Leader of Opposition Sudip RoyBarman due to the instruction from Rahul Gandhi , who is alleged tohave sent a message to Sudip containing thewords" Well sonebutgo slow" . Soon after receiving that message from Congress high command Sudip &his team was forced to withdraw the movement against CPI-M govt ,especialky against the so called honest(?) image of Manik Sarkar .

In most ofthe scams the culprits involved are very much closed to CM Manik Sarkar likes ofscamstar BDO of Bishalgarh R D Block Bimal Chakraborty, who is oneofthemosttrustedTCS officers ofCMManik and the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty.

 After the 2014 Lok Sabha poll cashing on Modi's development agenda for North East BJP's influence has been on the rise and at this moment BJP is practically the principal opposition party in the state.

Gadually people of Tripura have started to believe that BJP will rise upto their expectations and the misrule of CPI-M will come to an end. Unfortunately neither the BJP state leadership nor the central leadership is seen to take any sincere step to start any movement demanding CBI probe in Tripura's  massive corruptions. 

Major scams unearthed so far in Left Front ruled Tripura (List will continue to be much longer) : 

1) Looting of Rs 50 crore from MGNREGA fund in which Comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who is the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty, is the prime accused

2) Rs 40 crore scam on NRHM in Kailashahar

3) Rs 90 crore scam in NH44 construction ( alleged that the construction agreement was given to BRO in Rs 90 crore but it can be completed in Rs 10 crore. Obviously the lions share of this money went to the party in power)

4) Rs 20 crore scam in Rupaichhari R D Block 

5) Rs 25 crore scam in Teliamura R D Department 

6) Rs 35 crore scam in Kailashahar Horticulture Department 

7) Rs 15 crore scam in Agri Superintendent Office at Mohanpur( regarding the buying & distribution of potato seeds).Bijoy Roy, Store Keeper has been suspended

8) Rs 3 crore scam in Bamboo Project( jungle cutting) in Kadamtala

9) Rs 5 crore scam involved in the construction of Kadamtala Hospital

10) Rs 2 crore scam in Tripura Apex Fishery( purchasing of dry fish, limestone, fish food)

11) Rs 2 crore scam in purchase of watermelons plants

12 Rs 1. crore looting in Melaghar R D Block's Golden Jubilee Celebration

13) Rs 1.82crore scam in Melaghar R D Block( Assement Year 2011-12)

14) 1.27 crore scam in Udaipur Municipal Council

15) Rs 5 crore RMSA scam

16) Massive looting of peoples' money in Chit fund scam (Minister Bijita Nath under scanner )

17)Gross irregularities in 10323 teachers' termination case.

The list given above shows how deep rooted this state govt under CM Manikis  indulged in . But apart from a few legal procedures pending in the High Court(not from BJP's side) none of the BJP leaders is yet to utter a single word about this massive looting of public money. The irony of the irony of the fact is that State BJP President Biplab Deb and BJP Observer Sunil Deodhariinvariablyassure people saying that BJP will bring this CPI-M power to an end . But practically they say nothing about the corruptions mentioned above in which crores of rupees are involved. Biplab Deb may have his hidden agenda not to damage the image of his 'AdorniyoManikda' and thus BJP too is going on the same line as Congress used to play in the past. 

If the situation remains the same public will have genuine reasons for doubt reagrding BJP's Central leaderships' motive - whether they are keen to remove CPI-M from power. Intelligent CM Manik Sarkar is a master player in political management in the opposition belt. Political experts say," Manik Sarkar makes the ultimate decisions regarding the political movements in the opposition camp behind the curtains ." And looking at BJP's tactics and its seemingly silent attitude towards gross corruptions shows that CPI-M is certainly have an upper hand much before 2018 Assembly poll. 

There is no denying of the fact that gathering of crowds in political rallies may be good for leaders' show piece but to turn this crowd into votes is a huge task. So far CPI-M has been successful in doing so. Thus, as of now it is clear that BJP has a very bleak chance of doing good in 2018 Assembly poll if it is not serious about CBI probe. 

It is now clear as day light that CBI acts under the instructions of the ruling party at the Centre. If CBI can put pressure on TMC in West Bengal the same could have been done in Tripura too . So far it is a million dollar question why BJP's attitude is so soft towrdsManik Sarkar & Co.
