AGARTALA, May 23 (TIWN): On the 1st day of the Assembly Special Session-2013, Tripura opposition MLA Sudip Barman failed to raise the issue of 10,323 teachers case as the Deputy Speaker Pabitra Kar rejected Barman's plea to discuss about 10,323 teachers alternative job related issues & 13,000 posts created by Tripura Govt. However, Barman in the question-set wrote about the "13000 vacant posts", whereas Deputy Speaker said, "13000 posts were not vacant posts, but those are newly created posts by Tripura Govt". Thus Barman was asked to re-write the topic and to place in the Assembly. Sudip Barman asked the speaker why for this simple reason, such an important topic is denied to discuss in the Assembly. In reply, the speaker also said that this Assembly was called for GST, not for other issues. The Tripura CM Manik Sarkar stood up and said, "As Speaker didn't inform about it, so the Minister reliable to answer the question is not prepared at all. The topic cab be discussed in coming days".

However, Sudip Barman seemed very disappointed as this topic was denied to discuss in the Assembly.

Apart from that various other issues including Pay Commission, traffic related issues, municipality management topics were also debated among the ruling/ opposition leaders.

On the 1st day of the special session GST bill was also passed to implement it from July 1st.
