AGARTALA, April 27 (TIWN): Boosting about free land donation for IT Colleges, 4 star hotels are lot by Tripura Govt. but when the reality exposes it’s just horrifying. Court had ordered to seize Capital City located West Tripura DM office chaired by DM Millind Ramteke (presently) after a case was lodged against Tripura Govt for looting public land at Lichubagan, which belonged to King’s inheritors once. Taking to the advocate Rakhalraj Dutta, he told TIWN that Govt had occupied the land to build an Army HQ in the year 1983 at Lechubagan under the observation of West Tripura Dist Collector. The land belonged to Maharaj Kumar Sahadev Bikram Kishore Debbarma, S/ O- Lt. Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahdur with 4 ‘Kani’ of area. However, Govt neither gave the amounts in time, nor cooperated time to time.The case 2 times raised at High Court and 1 time at Supreme Court and time to time the value of the land kept on changing and compensation money was also hiked by Courts seeing the land value. Dutta also alleged that this is a negligence of the state govt. as Central Govt said that it sent the money in time but for not giving the compensation in time the issue turned critical.

“The land value is around 2 crores atleast, but the Govt is incapable to give 6 lakhs of compensation which was ordered by court”, said Dutta.

Reportedly, DM started to avoid meeting the persons related to the case. Till day an amount of 6,05,955 amount was pending and thus Court has ordered to seize all the table, chairs, almirah of DM office if the amount is not paid.

A number of police, along with lawyer reached DM Office to seize the items inside. However, later anyhow SDM S Chowdhuy arrived and controlled the situation.

 Saturday 11. 30 AM is the deadline to clear the amount to Sahadeb Debbarma.

Such an incident in a District Magistrate Office in a state of India is really an exclusive and unique incident and also a shame.

Even in Rose Valley’s time also, for the entertainment park Tripura Govt looted tribal people’s land for boating zone, but till they the land’s prices have not been retuned. It has been reported that whereas among 100 Kani 33.14 is khas, the rest 17.5 kani is of tribals, which were taken without giving any compensation to them and ‘Khas’ always means for the government.

Apart from that whereas CPI-M party office and other unions received more than Rs. 2.5 crores during double lane expansion as compensation, but the common people yet deprived to get their compensation at Khayerpur. 

Tripura Footpath Sangram Samiti appealed in Tripura High Court with 100 hawkers petitioners in 2014. The result was declared before 6 months, in support of the hawkers and HC ordered to implement the Vendor Act 2014 as per the vendor rights here. But the AMC didn’t bother to follow HC’s order for a long time led the hawkers to go for massive protests. 

Even in the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Centre inauguration programme at Agartala, CPI-M Minister, orators were boosting how almost in free of cost Tripura Govt donated the land for the College, but with a surprise when the reality exposes it turns just horrible.
