AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): ‘BSF has raped a tribal woman and that incident was really a devil activity done on 17th March’, said N C Debbarma at Press Club. Debbarma was brining bundles of allegations against BSF saying that they had killed 3 persons after raping a woman and to save face BSF filed an FIR against tribals accusing them as smugglers. However, earlier the villagers said that the killed woman was molested physically by BSF and NC Debbarma claimed it directly as ‘Rape’. ‘BSF had raped her, it’s proven already’, said Debbarma. But when media asked him how he is much sure about the rape-case, whether he got any post mortem report in this regard, he said, “What’s that?” After 3 times asking his friends explained about what is called post-mortem report. Debbarma said, “No no… we do not have such any paper in hand yet”.

Debbarma said, “IPFT has taken this a true after the leaders talked to the villagers and it has been known that the poor farmers were working in a rubber garden, whereas the woman was raped and when villagers came to protest later she was killed along with 2 more. Now question arises, how the rape victim could went for protest and particularly out of all villagers BSF pointed her ?
Moreover, IPFT is not ready to go through any more police cases, he is directly urging a High Court Justice to judge the issue. Debbarma further urged Rs. 20 lakhs compensation for the deceased families, Rs. 20 lakhs for the wounded families and also jobs to each familes.

Debbarma also said cattle smuggling has become a serious issue in state and both state and central govt should take care of the issue with proper investigation.

IPFT along with INPT will hold protests across Tripura on Tuesday in this regard.

It’s worthy to mention here that three tribals, including a woman, were died and two others were injured in BSF firing in southern Tripura's Chittabari village along the India-Bangladesh border on March 17. BSF alleged that was out of self defence when cattle smugglers attacked them and villagers alleged that BSF took rape attempt.

The probe order came after Kolkata-based BSF Additional Director General (Eastern Command) R.P. Singh visited the tension-ridden border areas and held a series of meetings with top Tripura government officials on Sunday and Monday.

Already political parties as CPI-M, IPFT have declared it as a ‘rape’ and reportedly to protest jointly.
