AGARTALA, Jan 30 (TIWN): On the occasion of All India Radio’s Golden Jubilee celebration Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy said that it’s very important to understand the public demand for the sake of business. This is the age of modernization and there is no Option without go with the time, said Governor. Referring Govt run TV channels and radio channels, Governor suggested to follow the trend of private FM companies and other private TV Channels as there is no option apart from that. “I’m very happy today to attend this auspicious programme. I can remember my childhood time when Radio was massively popular for us. At Saturday-Sunday afternoon there was a programme called Anurodh Asar which was highly popular. The TV came in 1970’s time, but all the programmes played in TV channels were utter boring and plain. TV failed to down radio until the private channels were in action 1990’s time. It was the private companies which made TV popular”. “Thus, Radio should also upgrade itself with private business policies. Why FM is popular, but not radio?", said Roy.

All India Radio should think to take the organization at FM level, otherwise nobody will listen Radio”, said Roy.

“Today anybody asked about radio, s/he says, who listens radio !, which proves it has certainly failed to draw the mass attention. Unless and until modernization is adopted, nobody will listen it except earthquake news. Even sports commentaries will nobody listen”, said Roy.

“Even DD-News is also broadcasting all plain programme, which nobody sees. By modernizing you can also increase the interests of the advertisers and you can lessen the expenses there. It’s very important to go with the trend as with 60’s policy nobody can make this media popular”, said Roy.

It’s worthy to mention here that Governor of Tripura always prefers the modernization and digitalization while he delivers speech.

About demonetization Governor on Jan 17 said in a workshop on cashless economy, “If demonetization, cashless economy can not be utilized by the state govts, then the economic condition of the states will be as same as West Bengal. In 1980’s time, when India adopted computers, the West Bengal Govt denied to accept it alleging that it will increase unemployment. However, the result was just the opposite as it was seen that the states which adopted the methodology they experienced massive economic growth after that. But at the same time West Bengal economy just fall down and the loss the people are facing till day. Now the West Bengal Govt crying for updated machineries and but nobody cares. In the same way the state leaders should utilize a move in proper time before the time out”, Roy said.
