AGARTALA, Jan 21 (TIWN): The political drama ahead of Tripura Assembly Election-2018 commencing various interesting episodes for the public. Whereas Trinamool supporters are now heated up with the arrest of Sudip Banerjee, Tapas Paul in Rose Valley case the CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar invited them to align in Anti-Modi protest. Same with Congress, which has recently held protest for extreme corruption under CPI-M regime with PM Modi’s PMAY scheme but now CPI-M calling the State Congress also to join hands in Anti-Modi protest. However, the anti-Modi protest will be although affective for West Bengal Trinamool and National Congress, but question remains how far it will be affective for the state oppositions as walking with CPI-M is just meant to weakening the vote banks of the oppositions.

CPI-M will hold a 5 day long protest from 27th January to 31st January with 10 charter of demands basically focused on Demonetization. In this regard BJP President Biplab Deb said, “When everything is done and already 90 % people accepted the demonetization, then why this protest drama..

Talking on the background of demonetization, Dhar said in demonetization 20 lakh people lost their jobs and this demonetization only remained helpful for the Capitalists. “Demonetization failed to fulfill any of the objectives which Modi promises to do; neither Modi Govt is disclosing how far currencies have been deposited. The govt is hiding so that it can tell the pubic a well plotted story”, said Dhar. Dhar further alleged that to hack the public money in bank the step was taken and in coming days money withdrawal will become more tough. Terming the condition as an ‘Economic-bubble’ Dhar said that with 3 aims this step was taken as :

1.     To sale the Banks,

2.     Merger the Banks,

3.     Bail-in (Your money is no more yous)

“After 2008’s America’s Bank’s downfalls with Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy was the day the worst economic crisis in living memory began in earnest. After that US made an Financial Stability Board where G-20 or Group 20 was built with 20 countries in 2014. India’s name was also there  and the country was signatory in that and as per the international level decision this demonetization and tricks to curve public-money was done. Nothing is related to public’s welfare”, claimed Dhar.

Total 10 demands will be placed by CPI-M during this 5 day protest:

1.     As Dec 30th has already passed so people should be allow to withdraw money as per his / her wish,

2.     To help financially the farmers as they suffered due to demonetization,

3.     Increase MGNREGA fund,

4.     To compensate the deceased families who died in demonetization,

5.     The people who lost job during demonetization, should be given compensation,

6.     The people who are exchanging by cash, should be given discount,

7.     Preserve the rural banking system,

8.     To compensate the state govt for the loss due to demonetization,

9.     Cash-less economy can not be imposed on the state govt.

10.  To confirm commodities in ration cards of every citizens.

However, among them Point Number one (1) and Point Number (9) are most important and CPI-M has called other parties in this move. However, the scenario in India has become like that all the Anti-Modi parties having 2 enemies, one is the local contestant and another is centre.

But question raised, why CPI-M has suddenly called for aligning ? Is it out of Rose Valley and  other protest ? Earlier, CPI-M called 12 hrs strike in separate move, which was much criticized by Congress and Trinamool. Now question remains will Tripura and West Bengal TMC, Congress support the 5 day long protest schedule announced by CPI-M?

When demonetization is done successfully and the period of demonetization ended on Dec 31st, the CPI-M nation-wide has called for a 5 day long protest which is scheduled to begin from January 27, almost 1 month of Post-Demonetization. A survey said that the minimum supports from public from each and every states is atleast 72 % whereas the support level has be up to 92 %.

However from 27th January to 31st January how far the protest will be fruitful for the party or all will be wastage of party funds… it’s to be seen.
