AGARATALA, Jan 20 (TIWN): Tripura’s 97 % literacy rate has become a matter of discussion even outside the state, but the scenario inside the state is just depicts a different story. On Friday all of a sudden guardians led by DSO or All India Democratic Students’ Organization had gheroed Tripura Board of Secondary Education Office alleging the delay of Text book circulation among the 9-10 students. During the protest Mridul Kanti Sarkar DSO State Secretary told media that even though 20 days have been passed after the New Session of 2017-18 have begun, but the students of Class-9 and Class-10 yet to receive their Text Book. “Due to no detention policy and the lack of initiative the Quality Education has been extremely downed in state. In this situation, markets have been pilled up only with note books, which has worsen the situation. As a result, the agonies of guardians have no end”, said Sarkar.

Reportedly, a 5 members team led by the DSO State Secretary Mridul Kanti Sarkar also placed deputation to TBSE President Mihir Sen. They had 2 demands all together : 1) To gather maximum number of books, 2) Note Books should not be given with Text Books.

It’s worthy to mention that Tripura’s Education quality has been a matter of controversy,. Even Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty also accepted the fact that more than 50 % of the teachers in Tripura are untrained. But question which was never asked to the ruling govt of Tripura is--- Who is actually responsible for this present scenario.

Moreover, Tripura Education Dept. has once again disappointed the people, with Class-12 and Madhyamik’s poor result for the academic session 2015-16.

According to the reports, In ADC area the pass rate is 58.47 % whereas in last year it was 66.40 %.

Lack of teacher in rural Tripura and private tuition business in town areas are also responsible for such a shameful result.

Whereas on the one hand central govt. is expecting that every state’s students are being provided with Quality Education on the other hand the ‘Quality Education’ is a distant dream for the student of Tripura rural schools.

Tripura’s maximum rural area based schools are suffering due to lack of teachers, insufficient infrastructure, poor mid-day-meal and above all---- studies in those schools are for name-sake.

The highest literacy rated state Tripura’s pathetic condition in Education system has put a question mark about the real utilization of ‘Right To Education’ in all over the country.

However, it’s to be mentioned here that behind the cause of such poor quality’s education, reasons are many among them the 3 biggest scams held in Tripura Education Department can be mentioned, which flaunts Tripura’s Education Quality.
