AGARTALA, Jan 18 (TIWN): After 20 days of Post-Demonetization period Tripura Pradesh Congress on Wednesday once again gheroued Agartala RBI branch and placed demonstration before the office. To assist Congress members and to strengthen the protest rally National Congress leader Deepa Dasmunsi who was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha & was the Union Minister of State for Urban Development until May 2014 arrived in Tripura and delivered a long speech against Modi Govt. However, this time the protest was not limited as an Anti-Modi protest, but Congress also raised question about Manik Sarkar’s double face in various issues. Addressing the mass Piyush Kanti Biswas said that whereas CPI-M is holding so many protests across India against demonetization, but Manik Sarkar never utters a word directly against ‘demonetization’. “As Manik Sarkar knows whenever he will protest against the BJP Govt immediately from CBI inquiry to other investigations will suffer him a lot", he added.

"May be he and few of his Cabinet Ministers also get arrested and that’s why Manik Sarkar is silent", Biswas said.

The Congress leader further questioned on Central Govt’s sympathetic attitude towards Tripura Govt, eveafter MGNREGA, Chit fund scams held under CPI-M Era here.

“Before demonetization, it was said that in cash India has 16 lakhs 74,000 crores. Among the amount of black money is 5 lakhs crores. During 7thpay commission implementation meeting  when decision was taken for implementing 1.5 lakhs cores for the employers; it was also decided that to manage the budget the money need to be kept in banks, so that the govt can invest the deposited money. Otherwise why so much restriction in money-withdrawal? The Modi Govt wanted to lock the public money in bank, for own benefit, he added.

Addressing the crowd Deepa Dasmunsi said, “From the beginning Congress raised a single question and the question is same also today. Why Modi Govt gave that sudden shock? Many people died out of hunger, left in jobless condition but the Central Govt never compensated them”.

The leader further raised few questions which according to her raised by Rahul Gandhi for Modi :

1.      From 8th November what’s the report of Black-Money collection?

2.     What is the total loss including GDP during the 50 days of time-perios,

3.     How many people lost jobs, how many died?

4.     Why no compensation has been given to the victim families?

5.     Before 8th Nov’s announcement how many people  deposited huge amounts of money in their own bank accounts?

However, how far the protests episodes in Tripura by oppositions will lay any impact on demonetization it’s to be seen.
